Below are a few assignments I created for my students during my time in the Masters of Educational Technology Program at MSU.
Photography Assignment
If you click on the picture to the left you will see a website I created for students to follow for a digital photography assignment. I have enough digital cameras for my entire class. When doing this assignment I knew everyone would be on different steps at the same time. Some students would need one on one help and others would work independently. Because of this using technology was very important for the success of our first digital photography assignment. It was important to start out the assignment successfully.

Copyright Free Images and National Cherry Festival Poster Contest
Assignment: After viewing the Copyright PowerPoint Presentation, go to Moodle by clicking on the icon to the left, choose Art. You may have to become a member of the class to view the assignment. Whey you get into art go to assignment 7 to view copyright free picture websites. Create a National Cherry Festival poster.
The above link and directions are from an assignment that I recently did with my class. It is amazing how often students want to go to Google Images to find pictures for assignments. The assignment was to create a poster for the National Cherry Festival using PaintShop Pro8. Before the assignment I teamed with the Media Specialist at my school to show the students that there were ways to do the assignment without racing to Google Images. She showed the students an interactive PowerPoint and then we directed them to Moodle to look at copyright free images. They used images from the sites to create their posters for the cherry festival and then they uploaded to them to Moodle to be printed. Savlador Dali STair
Assignment: Click on the powerpoint presentation below to learn about Salvador Dali. Follow the directions in the STair....and just a heads up...there will be a quiz at the end!
I created this STair in one of my first courses at MSU. It was fun to create and the students loved it too. Now, I use this every year. It was created in PowerPoint but it acts more like a tutorial about Salvador Dali.

Graffiti Creator
Assignment: Go to Moodle and read the directions on how to use Graffiti Creator. Go to the website listed below and create a desing in the graffiti style. When you are finished upload it to Moodle, print it out, and draw it with pencil on a 11x17" piece of paper.

Students love this assignment because they get to be creative but also create somehting they can personalize and use to decorate their locker or their bedroom. The directions are all on my Moodle account so students can log on and go for it!
